Burial will follow in the Loyal City Cemetery in Loyal.
Sherry Ann Froeba was born on March 5, 1964, in Marshfield, to Herbert E. and Diana M. (nee Clouse) Froeba. Sherry grew up in Loyal and graduated from Loyal High School in 1982, where she met and became friends with the love of her life, David John Clintsman. Dave and Sherry married on April 13, 1983, at the Assembly of God Church in Marshfield. The young newlyweds grew up together working as one to make the life and family they dreamed of in their little hometown of Loyal. Sherry did various jobs over her life to support their family and their dreams, including working at the Citgo and Kickapoo gas stations in town, doing daycare, farming with her husband, working as the office manager at Camper & Recreation for many years, and most recently working at RV Workshop for the last 15 years. Everything Dave and Sherry did, they did it together to support and fund their family and their many adventures.
Dave and Sherry grew their family and had four children, including adopting their daughter, Andrea, from China in 1996. Those four children have grown up into amazing adults who have all started families of their own, blessing Dave and Sherry with eight grandchildren. Sherry loved spending time with her family and hosting holiday celebrations at their home, especially the 4th of July and her annual Halloween party for her grandkids. Anyone who knows them, knows Dave and Sherry loved their old cars too, and Sherry was a member of the Tri-County Antique Car Club and the Old Cool Car Club. Sherry also loved traveling with Dave. They were always looking for their next new adventure. They went everywhere together, going to car shows, watching and attending drag racing events, driving or flying to visit various places across this great country, and even going to El Salvador every year from 2003 to 2019. Dave and Sherry shared a heart for missions that grew out of their experiences in China adopting their daughter. In 2003, they went with the Assembly of God churches to El Salvador for the first time and fell in love with the people, especially the kids of the Shalom Children’s Home orphanage. Together, they would spend the next 17 years helping the people there. They painted houses, helped the doctors, handed out medications and food, repaired and maintained the buses and other vehicles, and just loved on the people of El Salvador. They also sponsored several children around the world. Their love for missions was almost as big as their love for each other and their family. Dave and Sherry had just celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary in April and were looking forward to their 50th, but sadly Sherry’s cancer diagnosis in November 2019 cut that dream a little short despite her very courageous battle. They were always going on fun and spontaneous adventures in life. Her beautiful life was one well-lived and very loved.
Sherry fought the good fight and will be dearly missed by her husband, Dave, of Loyal; her children: David Jr. (Ashley) of Loyal, Jesse (Tiffany) of Loyal, Angela (Paul) Rinka of Owen, and Andrea (Zachary) Moon of Marshfield; her eight grandchildren: Alyssa, Reese, Austin, J.D., Dale, Lillian, Sophie and Jade; two sisters: Sue (Jim) Jacobson of Loyal, and Stacey (Lance) Balcom of Pittsville; two brothers: Ray (Tina) Froeba of Wisconsin Rapids, and Bob (Joann) Froeba of Stratford; and many other relatives and dear friends.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Connie and Dale Clintsman; and her grandson, Aydin Pokallus.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations for the Shalom Children’s Home Orphanage in El Salvador where Dave will continue serving in Sherry’s memory.
