Frank Bichler
1956-2021
Frank W. Bichler, 64, of Stetsonville, passed away peacefully under the care of Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau on Saturday, Mar. 20, 2021. A memorial celebration of his life, as well as burial of his cremated remains will take place at St. Mary’s cemetery in Port Washington
this summer. Frank was a master of many trades. Early in his career, he had a passion for photography working as a wedding, newspaper, and Green Bay Packers photographer. He worked as an EMT for two ambulance companies in the Milwaukee area. He did carpentry and worked at a couple factories for a while. In 1988, he graduated with a Laser degree from NTC in Wausau taking a job in New Berlin. He moved with his family to Medford in 1995 to take a laser maintenance job. After being laid-off from that job in 2009, he went back to school to obtain a nursing degree. After working in a few different nursing positions his career culminated as an inspector at Mid-Country Homes, a role he found meaningful and rewarding.
Surviving Frank are his wife, Nancy; sons, Jim and Ron; grandson, Aiden, the “light of his life”; and Aiden’s mother, Carrie Scheller. He is further survived by his siblings, Joseph, James, Howard, Janet (Eric) Rathgeber, Ann (Kevin) Tautges, all in Wisconsin; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Carl.

“Eternal rest grant onto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen” Frank was born on July 4, 1956 to Joseph and Delores (Binsfeld) Bichler. He was a graduate of Port Washington High School. He married Nancy Bischoff on Sept. 19, 1981.
Frank was a member of the Boy Scouts and attained the Eagle rank in his youth. In his later years he was a Scout leader and Assistant Scout Master for the Medford and Stetsonville troops. While with the organization, he received the Vigil honor, the Silver Beaver award, and the OA Founder’s award. His community involvement included being a t-ball coach, and serving as president to both the Stetsonville Lions and Medford Curling Clubs.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. On weekends he could be found watching football, NASCAR, or making homemade wine. Frank could be very “frank” and wasn’t afraid to stand up for what he believed in. He had a great sense of humor, liked joking around and making people laugh.
