Lloyd E. Westphal, Sr., age 76, of Rib Lake, WI, passed away on Friday, Nov. 27, 2020, at his home under the care of his family and Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. Lloyd was born in Shawano, WI, on Jan. 12, 1944, to the late Robert and Madeline (Popelka) Westphal. He was married to JoAnn Martin on May 6, 1967; she survives. Lloyd was a graduate of South Division High School in Milwaukee and was later drafted into the U.S. Army. After serving in the military, he returned to Milwaukee working at Inland Steel and Schwerman Trucking, Inc., before retiring from Advance Transportation Company after 30 years. Lloyd retired in 1997 and moved to Rib Lake in 2005. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling with his family. He also enjoyed fishing and boating and had a strong passion for 4-wheeling. Above all, Lloyd cherished time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, JoAnn Westphal, of Rib Lake; his son, Lloyd Westphal, Jr., of Rib Lake; his daughter, MaryJo (Todd) Monty, of Rib Lake; three brothers, Phillip Westphal, of Hayward, WI, Jerome Westphal, of Milwaukee, and Robert Westphal, of the state of Washington; three sisters, Jenny Beckette, of Reno, NV, Carol Olson, of Racine, WI, and Rosie Laabs, of Cudahy, WI. Lloyd is further survived by six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; along with many other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Madeline; his brother, David Westphal; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Laabs and Leroy Olson.
