John A. Zutavern

1937-2020

John A. Zutavern, 83, of Rib Lake, passed away on March 11, 2020 at Aspirus Medford Hospital. John was born on March 10, 1937 to the late George and Clara (Puhlman) Zutavern Sr. He married Patricia Thums on Sept. 12, 1959. They moved to Milwaukee in the early 60s and eventually made their home in Rib Lake by the summer of 1969. They were married 54 years. John worked for the Taylor County Highway Department, taking great pride as a grader operator in his respected 29 years there. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially loved entertaining his many friends and shared his love of playing music with his kids. He also loved a good beer.

John is survived by his children, Dan (Candy) Zutavern of Westboro, Terri Pfingsten of Merrill and Steve Zutavern; and five grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; and his siblings and parents.
