Edwin Eric Petz

1930-2020

Edwin Eric Petz, 89, a former Ogema resident, passed away on Wednesday, February 26 in Marianna, Fla.

Edwin was born on July 22, 1930 in Shell Lake, the son of Henry and Laura Petz. He grew up in Shell Lake and farmed there for three years. He met his wife, Daisy Alice Moyer and they were married on Feb. 27, 1954. They moved to Iowa where they farmed, then moved to Medford in 1961, where they raised their six children. They moved to Zephyrhills, Fla. in 1975, where Edwin worked at Gore’s Dairy Farm until 1979. He then worked at Tampa Bay Bulk until he retired. After retirement, they spent summers in Ogema and wintered in Zephyrhills.

Edwin is survived by his children, Jean (Michael) Neubauer of Medford, Eric (Sue) Petz of Ohio, Henry (Jean) Petz, Steven (Missy) Petz, Denise (Rich) Gray and Daisy (Stephen) Phillips all of Florida; 12 grandchildren, Edwin Neubauer, Henry Neubauer, Angela Petz, Justin Petz, Erin Petz, Jessica Petz, Nichole Petz, Joshua Petz, Shawn Malec, Rachel Malec, Sabrena Peterson and Dixie Peterson; and five great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy; a son, Stephen; brothers Henry, Leo and Walter Petz; and many brothersand sisters-in-law.

Marianna Chapel Funeral Home of Marianna, Fla. assisted the family with arrangements.
