10 Years Ago – 2015 It’s important for a school and law enforcement to work hand-in-hand, and that’s what is happening at Cadott. Liaison training will be provided to two off the village’s police officers, who will act as a point of contact between the two entities and hopefully, engage with the students to make themselves more approachable in an emergency.

30 Years Ago – 1995 The Cadott Area Historical Society is planning an expansion of their museum, by building a new structure next to the existing meeting hall, for displaying historical artifacts. The new 28x60 structure will be 10 feet to the east of the current building, on State Hwy. 27.
40 Years Ago – 1985 After considerable debate, it’s agreed to appropriate $16,000 to construct a pole-type shelter at the proposed Mill Yard Park in Cornell. The big argument was over whether or not to install bathrooms, which, without them, would mean the building is more or less useless for gatherings.
50 Years Ago – 1975 Two cars are involved in an automobile mishap on County Hwy. X in Cadott, right in front of Cameric’s Tavern, with no injuries reported. A 1971 Chevy Camero, driven by Deone Kenealy, was going east on the roadway, when a 1971 Ford Galaxie 500, driven by Gene Caswell, allegedly pulled out from the tavern’s parking lot, to head east on the road.
60 Years Ago – 1965 The Holcombe Telephone Co., Inc., files an application with the Public Service Commission, for authority to increase rates. A rate increase is needed, to complete a reconstruction project.
100 Years Ago – 1925 Coming from the Crescent area, The Virginians, noted minstrels, demonstrate their ability with a show at the Estella Community Club. Admission for the event was only 25 cents and preceded the much-anticipated Hard Time Party.
