Ellee J. Grunwald, 18, Medford, and Arnold E. Koeppe, 85, Westboro, were involved in an accident on October 20 at 9:48 a.m. on Main Street in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Koeppe vehicle was southbound on Main Street. The Grunwald vehicle was pulling out of a driveway to proceed south on Main Street and did not see the Koeppe vehicle due to a legallyparked vehicle on the side of the street. The Grunwald vehicle pulled out onto Main Street and struck the Koeppe vehicle. The Grunwald vehicle sustained damage to the front, right front corner and left front corner. The Koeppe vehicle sustained damage to the left side middle and left side rear. Looked but did not see by Grunwald was listed in the report as a factor in the accident.
Kevin L. Damm, 18, Medford, and Daniel A. Durr, 62, Athens, were involved in an accident on October 22 at 11:10 a.m. on Hwy 13 in the town of Deer Creek. According to the accident report, the Damm vehicle was northbound and the Durr vehicle was southbound on Hwy 13. The driver of the Damm vehicle lost control of the vehicle on snow and slush on the road and the vehicle fishtailed. Damm over-corrected and the vehicle crossed the centerline and struck the Durr vehicle, which had moved over as far as possible to avoid the collision. The Damm vehicle sustained damage to the front, left front corner and left side front. It was towed from the scene. The Durr vehicle sustained minor damage to the left side middle. Weather and road surface conditions; and speeding too fast for conditions, failure to control and over-correcting/ over-steering by Damm were listed as factors in the accident.
Brittany L. Reinhart, 30, Medford, and Erika K. Rinehart, 33, Medford, were involved in an accident on October 9 at 4:04 p.m. in the parking lot at 160 Medford Plaza in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Reinhart vehicle was pulling into a parking space next to the Rinehart vehicle when a child in the back seat of the Rinehart vehicle opened the door. The Reinhart vehicle sustained damage to the left front. The Rinehart vehicle sustained damage to the right rear passenger door.
Travis J. Severson, 43, Unity, was involved in an accident on October 19 at 5:55 p.m. on CTH O in the town of Medford. According to the accident report, the Severson vehicle was westbound on CTH O when a horse ran onto the roadway. The Severson struck the horse, damaging the windshield. The horse received a laceration to the face and required stitches.
Christopher J. Bruggink, 53, Medford, was involved in an accident on October 20 at 4:10 p.m. on Hwy 64 in the town of Hammel. According to the accident report, the Bruggink vehicle was westbound on Hwy 64 when the driver attempted to slow down and turn onto Sawyer Avenue. The driver lost control due to road conditions and the vehicle entered the ditch, striking a sign post. The vehicle sustained damage to the right side middle and right side rear. Alexis R. Steger, 18, Dorchester, was involved in an accident on October 20 at 4:33 p.m. on CTH M in the town of Medford. According to the accident report, the Steger vehicle was eastbound on CTH M when the driver lost control due to weather conditions. The vehicle entered the south ditch and slid down a steep embankment, striking a tree. The vehicle sustained damage to the front, left front corner and left side front. It was towed from the scene. Michael J. Alexander, 20, Medford, was involved in an accident on October 24 at 8:56 p.m. on CTH M in the town of Molitor. According to the accident report, Alexander vehicle was eastbound on CTH M when a bear crossed the roadway. The driver swerved to avoid the bear, but struck it. The vehicle crossed into the westbound lane of traffic and entered the north ditch where it struck a tree and rolled, coming to a stop on the passenger side. Alexander told law enforcement that he was not wearing a seatbelt. He sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital for medical treatment. There was damage to the entire vehicle and was towed from the scene. Swerved or avoided due to wind, slippery surface, motor vehicle, object or non-motorist in roadway by Alexander was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. He was issued a citation for a seatbelt violation.
Danielle P. Burch, 27, Gilman, was involved in a hit-and-run accident on October 23 at 1 a.m. at the intersection of CTH B and S in the town of Taft. According to the accident report, the Burch vehicle was southbound on CTH B when the driver failed to stop for the stop sign at the T-intersection with CTH S. The vehicle went through the intersection and knocked down a road sign. The vehicle became airborne down into the south ditch of CTH S and came to a stop against a power pole. The report stated the driver’s side door was open against the power pole and the other doors of the vehicle were locked. Footprints led up the ditch from the vehicle onto the roadway. There was an unconscious male passenger in the front passenger seat who stated he did not know the driver personally and had been out drinking with friends. He refused medical treatment. The report stated the registered owner of the vehicle was identified and law enforcement attempted to contact the driver at her residence. The driver’s roommate made contact with the driver via telephone and verified she had been in an accident and
