Joan M. Paul, 89, a former town of Little Black resident, died on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020 at Colonial Center Nursing Home, Colby where she had resided for the past seven
years. Factory from 1964-1994. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Stetsonville, and its choir, Taylor Co. Fair Board, Taylor Co. Holstein Breeders Assn. where they were named Farm Family of the Year in 1980, and was a Taylor Co. 4-H Leader (Liberty 4-H Club). She enjoyed traveling, ceramics, sewing, quilting and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children, Linda (Steven) Sackmann of Maple Grove, Minn., Mary (Dave) Peissig of Medford, Rebecca (Tom) Tlusty of Medford, Judy (Joe) Obenhoffer of Rib Lake, Kathy (Merl) Schoenherr of DeForest, Tim Paul of Dorchester, Sally (Rick) Jensen of Savage, Minn. and Wendy (Tim) Congdon of Hudson. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Trisha Williams, Craig and Cory Tlusty, Carissa Sobeck, Nathan and Dustin Obenhoffer, Andrew and Austin Schoenherr, Megan Bennett, Emily, Kendra, Matthew and Katie Jensen, Max, Madeline and Wade Congdon, along with 16 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mae Fetzer of Waunakee; and her inlaws, Marion Paul of Abbotsford, Dorothy Grinker of Dorchester and Galen Bergmann of Medford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Anne; sisters, Betty White Beck and Anita Johnson; and brother, Eugene Habermeyer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given in her name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Stetsonville.

Memorial services for Joan will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Stetsonville, with Father Patrick McConnell officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford, with a 7 p.m. Catholic prayer service. Visitation will continue on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Interment of her cremated remains will take place following at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Stetsonville. Due to COVID concerns, masking will be required for both the visitations and services.
Joan was born on Feb. 10, 1931 in the town of Little Black, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Danen) Habermeyer. She attended Liberty Elementary School, town of Little Black, and was a 1949 graduate of Medford High School. Her marriage took place on June 20, 1951 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Stetsonville, to Kenneth Albert Paul and he preceded her in death on March 20, 1995.
