James “Jim” L. Kohls, 69, of Westboro, passed away on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020 at his residence, surrounded by family, under the care of Hope Hospice.
A memorial service for Jim will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Daniel Iwinski officiating. Visitation will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Jim was born on Dec. 27, 1950 to Walter and Dorothy (Shearer) Kohls in Watertown. He graduated from Watertown High School. He married Karen M. Krause on July 13, 1974 in Ixonia.
Jim worked for Brandt Inc. in Watertown as a Systems Specialist for 25 years, where he was able to travel the United States and the world. He then went on to work for Waste Management, before moving to Westboro. Once in Westboro he worked for Feddick Ford in Abbotsford, until his retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed watching the Packers and Badgers, camping, and his trips to Menards.
Jim is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Darrin (Lisa) Kohls of Westboro, Brandon (Amber) Kohls of Stevens Point; grandchildren, Morgan (Cory) Dums, Ethan (Kyia Rueth) Kohls, Hannah (Tyler) Bunders, Cassidy (Dustin Roiger) Kohls, Quintin Kohls, and Kailan Kohls; great-grandchildren, Kip, Korbin, and Kallen Dums, and Cameron Bunders; sisters, Sharyn (Robert) Maxwell of Watertown and Deborah (William) Rahn of DeForest; dear friends, Edward (Debra) Laymon of Baraboo. James is further survived by many other family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Jim’s name may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hope Hospice or Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills.
