Care packages, babysitter bags available from CCL
Babysitter bags and library care packages are available to daycares, classrooms, and homeschoolers at the Colby Community Library (CCL).
Registrations are now open for both programs. Allow the CCL staff to offer personalized services that work this way: Babysitter bags are for institutional or in-home daycare providers and are filled with books and movies preselected by CCL staff based on a theme. Also included in the bags are activity sheets for songs, poems, finger plays, art projects, etc.
The kits are like “story times in a bag.” The bags may be checked out monthly and then exchanged for a new set of books and movies. Pick up and return instructions will be included in the bags.
Library care packages are for classrooms and homeschoolers. Inform library staff of the topic of study and age level. Using CCL materials and interlibrary loan items, library staff will put packages together. Library Care Packages may be kept for one month.
In this time of COVID-19 precautions and library material quarantining, advance notice is required to allow staff to get appropriate materials ordered.
The CCL is open on Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (a new night), and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for those preferring to select their own items. Masks are required for all patrons ages 5 and over; if you cannot wear a mask, library staff will assist you with curbside service.
Call the library at 715-223-2000 or stop in during open hours to register for the babysitter bags and library care packages programs at the CCL.
