The Rumblefest car show took ….

The Rumblefest car show took place on Sunday, July 26th. The event brought car collectors and enthusiasts from across Taylor County, with people flocking to the show grounds to view stylish old-fashioned cars and new souped-up vehicles. Barely Legal Customs Car Club was the host for the event, backed by sponsor O’Reilly Auto Parts of Medford, as well as California Dreams Hot Rod & Custom Shop.

Many cars displayed innovative artistry, from folk-inspired engines bolted together with saw blades, tin cans, barbed wire, and mason jars, to intricately drawn modern pieces sprawled across gleaming hoods.

“It’s a pretty awesome show to attend around here,” said event attendee Hannah. “Last year was the first time I attended, but I know some people have been coming here for years. I’m just really glad it didn’t get canceled like so many other festivals around here.”

While the car show occurred, items were auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds raised going to Stepping Stones, a nonprofit organization that aids victims of domestic abuse. The auction raised $3,000 for the center.

California Dreams owner Anthony Meyer said that participating in the car show was something of a way of life for him, and that he was happy Rumblefest was able to help such a noble cause.

“I grew up going to the car show,” said Meyer, whose also a member of the Barely Legal car club. “I like to see the show be a success, and I think it’s great we’re taking the money everybody helped raise and pouring it back into the local community, and helping an organization that helps other people like Stepping Stones does.”

Meyer thanked everybody that turned out to support both Rumblefest and Stepping stones, saying, “We still had fair car count, down from a few years past. Considering the weather, and of course the COVID-19 stuff, we saw a good number of people come out and support the show. We wouldn’t be able to put on the show without their support.”
