Two-vehicle accidents
Lori A. Holmes, 52, Medford, and John E. Heser, 62, Medford, were involved in an accident on July 9 at 2:10 p.m. on South Park Avenue in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, both vehicles were northbound on South Park Avenue. The driver of the Holmes vehicle signaled and slowed down to turn into a driveway at 656 S. Park Ave. when the vehicle was struck from behind by the Heser vehicle. Heser said he did not see the Holmes vehicle slow down in time to avoid the accident. Both vehicles sustained minor damage to their respective ends. Following too close by Heser was listed in the report as a factor in the accident.
Kolton J. Ratcliff, 16, Medford, and a vehicle owned by Jonathan E. Janikowski, Winneconne, were involved in an accident on July 13 at 8:30 p.m. on Memorial Drive in the town of Ford. According to the accident report, the Ratcliff vehicle was backing up when it struck the Janikowski vehicle which was legally-parked and unoccupied on the side of the road. The Ratcliff vehicle sustained minor damage to the rear. The Janikowski vehicle sustained minor damage to the front.
Ricky A. Sperl, 61, Medford, and a vehicle owned by Joseph Svejda, 30, Medford, were involved in an accident on July 17 at 7 a.m. in the parking lot at the Taylor County Courthouse in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Sperl vehicle was backing up when it struck the legally-parked Svejda vehicle, damaging the driver’s door and quarter panel. There was no damage to the Sperl vehicle.
Anthony T. Schuett, 37, Merrill, was involved in an accident on July 18 at 10:20 p.m. in a parking lot on Hwy 13 in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Schuett vehicle was traveling westbound through the County Market parking lot. Schuett said he was looking at another vehicle traveling into the parking lot and as he turned left, he turned too sharp and struck a stop sign. The vehicle sustained minor damage to the left front corner. Looking away from the task by Schuett was listed in the report as a factor in the accident.
Jamie L. Pichla, 34, Abbotsford, and a vehicle owned by Kevin F. Mayer, Westboro, were involved in a hitand- run accident on July 15 at 1:45 p.m. in a parking lot at 224 S. Second St. in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Pichla vehicle was pulling into a parking space at the Taylor County Courthouse when it struck the legally-parked and unoccupied Mayer vehicle in the adjacent parking space. Pichla got out of her vehicle, looked at both vehicles and left the parking lot without reporting the accident. The Pichla vehicle sustained minor damage to the right front corner. The Mayer vehicle sustained damage to the right front corner, right side front and right side middle. Operating a motor vehicle in an inattentive, careless or erratic manner by Pichla was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. She was issued a citation for hit-and-run of an unattended vehicle.
Ryan M. Brandner, 45, Stetsonville, and Debra A. Piller, 66, Medford, were involved in an accident on July 13 at 5:47 p.m. at the intersection of Clark and South Seventh streets in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Brandner vehicle was westbound on Clark Street and stopped for the stop sign at the intersection with South Seventh Street. A bicycle operated by Piller was southbound on South Seventh Street in the northbound lane of traffic. Brandner said he looked both ways but did not see the Piller bicycle. Brandner proceed through the intersection and his vehicle struck the rear tire of the bicycle, causing minor damage. There was no damage to the Brandner vehicle. Piller sustained minor injuries and was transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital for medical treatment. Looked but did not see by Brandner, and walking/cycling along roadway against traffic and failure to keep in proper lane or running off road by Piller were listed in the report as factors in the accident.
