Trials slated
The following appeared in court and entered pleas of not guilty: Mikayla L. Fellenz, 21, Thorp, possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia; Scott K. Rodney, 59, Medford, disorderly conduct, battery and criminal damage to property; Edward O. Brecke IV a.k.a. Edward Orie Brecke, 25, Stetsonville, battery (repeater) (domestic abuse-infliction of physical pain or injury), disorderly conduct (domestic abuse-infliction of physical pain or injury) (repeater), contempt of courtdisobeying an order and resisting/failing to stop; Caleb J. Hainzlsperger, 20, Curtiss, resisting or obstructing an officer.
Ashley M. Becker, 20, Athens, pled no contest to an amended charge of possession of a controlled substance. The original charge had been possession of THC. Becker entered into a deferred prosecution agreement for a period of one year. As terms of the agreement, Becker must pay supervision fees as ordered by the Department of Corrections (DOC); complete 20 hours of community service, pre-approved by probation, and provide written verification to the probationary agent; and must undergo an alcohol and drug assessment and follow through with any treatment recommendations. Upon successful completion of the agreement, the state will move to dismiss the charge. A count of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed but read in for sentencing purposes.
Rory J. Cegielski, 23, Medford, pled guiity to an amended charge of disorderly conduct and forfeited $443. The original charge had been battery.
Tracy D. Prechel, 36, Merrill, pled no contest to theft and paid a fine and restitution of $678.50.
Shane D. Ziegel, 45, Medford, pled no contest to possession of child pornography. He was sentenced to serve three years in prison, followed by five years of extended supervision. As condition of his extended supervision, Ziegel must pay a forfeiture of $1,018 and supervision fees as ordered by the DOC; submit to a DNA sample; have no unsupervised use of the internet; undergo a psychosexual evaluation and compliance with all recommendations; be on the sex offender registration for a minimum period of 15 years; undergo counseling as deemed appropriate by probation; obtain his GED/ HSED or high school equivalency diploma; and undergo an alcohol and drug assessment and comply with all treatment recommendations. Ziegel also pled no contest to four additional counts of possession of child pornography. Sentences, forfeitures and conditions are the same for each additional count as for the first count and are to run concurrent with the first count. Five additional counts of possession of child pornography, possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed but read in for sentencing purposes.
The following were granted a divorce decree: Brandon R. Peiffer, 30, Beeville, Texas, and Miranda B. Peiffer, 31, Stanley.
