Ronald “Ron” Martin

1946-2020

Ronald “Ron” Martin, 74, of Turtle Lake, died on Monday, May 11, 2020 at Amery Hospital due to complications with cancer. A private family service will be held in Rib Lake. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Ron was born on Jan. 23, 1946 in Eau Claire to Wilmer and Albina (Zank) Martin Atwood. He married and had four children, Cindy (Donny) Hardt of Dorchester, Deb (Lanny) Dassow of Medford, Tracy (Luis) Silva of Texas and Wayne Ronald Martin, who preceded him in death. Ron later divorced and remarried Linda Neaka on June 1, 2001. Ron was an avid Packer fan. He loved to fish and hunt when he was able. He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. He also loved to take his dog, Cujo, on daily walks around the neighborhood.

Ron is survived by his wife; daughters; one sister, Diane (Willy) Thums; his step-father, David Atwood; one step-brother, Jeff Atwood; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his son; and one sister, Cheryl Klatt.

Skinner Funeral Home in Turtle Lake is assisting the family with arrangements.
