June M. Hurtienne

1925-2020

June M. Hurtienne, 94, of Medford, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Aspirus Care and Rehab. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will take place at a later date. June was born in Medford on June 14, 1925 to the late Joseph and Christina (Smedegard) Gaab. Following graduation from Medford High School she was employed as a sales clerk at Wicker’s Grocery and later at McCain’s Dress Shop until retirement. Her marriage to Vernon Hurtienne was at Holy Rosary Church on Feb. 5, 1955 and he preceded her in death in 1991. She enjoyed volunteering at the nursing home and spending time with family and friends.

June is survived by her sisters-in-law, Kathleen Brehm Gaab and Rachel Hurtienne Vaughn; nieces; nephews; and grand and great-grand-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by her brothers, James and Jerome Gaab; sister-in-law, Norma Brost Gaab Molitor; niece, Kathy Gaab; and nephew, Joseph Gaab.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in June’s name may be given to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
