Jeff Ludwig, Maintenance Director, was present to discuss the proposed purchase of the properties adjacent to the Fairgrounds. The Bauer and Miller properties would help with the long-term needs of the Fairgrounds, as well as, storage needs for the Sheriff’s Offi ce and Highway Department. Chairman Metz asked Ludwig to get some pricing and bring it back to the Board.
It was moved by Mildbrand, seconded by Lewis, to go into closed session at 11:57 a.m., pursuant to Section 19.85(1) (e), Wisconsin State Statutes, for the purpose of deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business that requires a closed session in order to protect the county’s competitive bargaining ability. A roll call vote cast, sixteen (16) voting aye, one (1) absent (Makovsky), the motion carried.
It was moved by Zenner, seconded by Hinkel, to go into open session at 12:11 p.m. pursuant to Section 19.85(1)(e), Wisconsin State Statutes. A roll call vote cast, sixteen (16) voting aye, one (1) absent (Makovsky), the motion carried. It was moved by Albrecht, seconded by Lewis, to adjourn subject to the call of the Chair. A unanimous vote cast, the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 12:11 p.m.

Taylor County Board of Supervisors Thursday, March 19, 2020 9:00 a.m.
The following minutes are only a draft and have not yet been approved by the Taylor County Board. Therefore, they remain subject to revision pending final approval at the next meeting of the Taylor County Board of Supervisors.
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors was called to order at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2020, by Jim Metz, County Board Chair, in the Third Floor County Board Room, Taylor County Courthouse, 224 South Second Street, Medford, WI 54451.
Supervisor Hinkel led the Board in The Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was taken with all seventeen (17) members present; Supervisor Lewis was present via speaker phone. A quorum being present, the board was declared in session.
It was moved by Albrecht, seconded by Roiger, to approve the agenda with six (6) items. A unanimous vote cast, the motion carried.
Docket No. 2020-2-19: A RESOLUTION TO DECLARE A LOCAL STATE OF EMERGENCY RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED: JIM METZ, CHAIR It was moved by Adams, seconded by Mildbrand, to adopt the resolution as submitted. The Emergency Committee was in attendance to address the questions from several Supervisors and after much discussion the Chair called for a vote. A roll call vote cast, sixteen (16) voting aye, one (1) voting no (Thums), the motion carried. The item was declared adopted and became RESOLUTION NO. 90.
Supervisor Lewis left at 9:30 a.m. to attend another meeting.
