Ray was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, his church and faith were a very important part of his life. In his free time, Ray enjoyed bowling, deer hunting, family table games, and spending time with his family.
Left to cherish in Ray’s memory are his children – Raymond A. (Linda) Tallman Jr. of Medford, Cheryl “Sherry” (Douglas) Baker of Abbotsford, Guy (Wanda) Tallman of Medford, and Corey (Leigh) Tallman of Russellville, Ky.; grandchildren – Craig Tallman, Tyler (Catarina Gulledge) Tallman, Quinten Tallman, Calah (Robert) Nakai, Andrew (Hazee) Baker, Jennifer (Dakota) Krueger, and Adam (Brandy) Tallman; great-grandchildren – Joseph, Michael, and Derek Tallman, Ezra Baker, Kalen, Ashlynn, Addison, and Aleah Krueger, and Ellieana Tallman; sisters – Ruth (Rufus) Sween of Milwaukee, Arlene (Jim) Vandeuser of Wisconsin Rapids, and Esther (Pete) Kostner of Medford.
Along with his parents and wives, Ray was preceded in death by his siblings: Elmer Tallman, Martha Haglund, Marcella Lucia, Elaine Maier, and his twin brother Ralph Tallman.
Ray Tallman was ‘our’ dedicated father, a husband, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, and a friend to many, but most importantly, a follower of Christ. His church and his faith meant everything to him. He prayed often while enduring so much in his 88 years. He spent a lot of time teaching his grandchildren how to fish, make an awesome grilled cheese sandwich, and the lyrics to the silliest of songs that none of us will ever forget. This great man rarely complained and loved to tell stories of his childhood and the many jobs he had in his life. To the very end, he was singing hymns and country songs, reciting all 66 books of the Bible, and all while making his family laugh, smile, and sing along. He will forever remain in our hearts and our memories. We love you Dad!
