Charles “Chuck” Blake Nolan, 79, of Albia, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March, 28, 2020 at the Monroe County Hospital. A private mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, April 2 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia with Father Mark Yates CPPS officiating. Interment followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Albia. Chuck was born on July 4, 1940, in Marshfield, to Norbert and Mary (Taggett) Nolan. He attended school at Medford High School, where he met his wife Patricia Shannon. They married on Sept. 5, 1964 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Wausau. He attended college at UW-Whitewater. He served his country during the Korean War, enlisted with the United States Army. He worked for American Manufacturing in sales, and later became president/owner of Trophy Glove Company in Albia. Chuck had various types of hobbies including bow hunting, working on cars, gardening and dancing with his wife. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a charter member of the Knights of Columbus. His true enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially skiing trips in Colorado, and attending his grandchildren’s events.

Chuck is survived by his children, Tim (Cindy) Nolan of Albia, Iowa, Katie (Bill) Jacobson of Waukee, Iowa, Susan (Bob) Sinclair of Williamsburg, Iowa, and Mike (Vicki) Nolan of Windsor Heights, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, Justin and Alyssa Nolan, Michael, Reilly, Molly and Evan Jacobson, Emma, George, Clara and Eleanor Sinclair, Deklyn and Connor Nolan; one great-grandchild, Belle Chavez; siblings, Mike Nolan of Merrill and Barb (Bob) Pawelski of Hudson.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Mary Nolan; and wife, Patricia Nolan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Albia Fire Department, and may be mailed to Sinnott Funeral Home, 2030 Hwy 5, Albia, Iowa 52531. Online condolences may be left for the family at sinnottfuneralhome.com.
