Carl E. Boyles

1941-2020

Carl E. Boyles quietly passed away at his home north of Withee on Feb. 9, 2020 at the age of 79. A celebration of life will be held on March 1 at noon at the Thirsty Squirrel in Owen. Carl was raised in the Withee area by his parents Julian and Grace Boyles. He was the third born with three sisters, Jean Scheuneman, Marty Kowalowski, and Gloria Hubbart. Carl married Joan Vanderhoof of Spencer and had two children, Steven and Kevin. Carl is survived by seven grandchildren and many extended family.

He was a wonderful man that gave help to anyone that needed it. He often helped other farmers and neighbors for free as he believed in taking care of those around him. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, all outdoor activities, and the occasional shot of Old Crow. Carl will be missed as he was an honest man that worked his entire life, and still had time to help others.
