County nutrition program February menu

The Taylor County Nutrition Program for the elderly has announced the February menu for the various sites. Persons 60 years and older and spouse, regardless of age, are invited to participate in the meal.

In Jump River, meals are served at noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Jump River Community Center, W14751 River St. In Medford, meals are served at noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at the Medford Senior Dining Center, 845 E. Broadway (Hwy 64). In Gilman, meals are served at noon Monday through Thursday at the Gilman Senior Center, 385 Main St. Meals are served in Goodrich at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays at Royal Gaits Arena & Stables, N3649 Spring Dr. In Stetsonville, meals are served at noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Centennial Community Center, 412 E. Center Ave. Meals are served in Rib Lake at 11:30 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Rib Lake Senior Center, 725 S. Front St. In Westboro meals are served at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the VFW Hall, N8835 Business Hwy 13.

Reservations must be made one day in advance by 2 p.m. If you have questions, call the Taylor County Commission on Aging at 715-748-1491.

Week of February 3 — Monday, pulled pork in a bun, scalloped potatoes, coleslaw, honey bee fruit salad; Tuesday, chicken taco casserole, carrots, whole wheat dinner roll, sliced pears, rhubarb cake; Wednesday, egg salad, lettuce leaf and tomato slice on whole wheat bread, beef barley soup, peach slices, cookie; Thursday, spaghetti and meat sauce, romaine lettuce salad, whole wheat bread, pears, pineapple cake; Friday, beef stroganoff, mashed potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower, biscuit, fresh grapes.

Week of February 10 — Monday, tuna noodle casserole, peas, rye bread, diced fruit mix, apple cake; Tuesday, chef salad with lettuce, tomatoes, turkey, egg, cheese and dressing, minestrone soup, fresh roll, cookie; Wednesday, chicken wild rice hot dish, garlic green beans, sliced pickled beets, rye bread, beetnik chocolate cake; Thursday, roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, squash, multi-grain bread, angel food cake with strawberries and raspberries; Friday, sloppy joe in a bun, roasted potatoes, baked beans, grape salad.

Week of February 17 — Monday, honey mustard pork, baked sweet potato, cauliflower, raisin bread, cinnamon applesauce; Tuesday, chicken fajitas with red and green bell pepper sauté, tortilla, refried beans, Mexican corn, chocolate cherry cake; Wednesday, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, peas, whole wheat bread, pumpkin bar; Thursday, lasagna, carrots, romaine lettuce salad, garlic breadstick, fruit Jell-O dessert; Friday, chicken broccoli hot dish, Pacific vegetable blend, whole wheat bread, grape juice, bananas and vanilla pudding.

Week of February 24 — Monday, beef tips with mushrooms, noodles, carrots, 12-grain bread, warm cinnamon apples; Tuesday, barbecue pork, whole wheat hoagie, scalloped potatoes, peas and carrot, Mardi Gras fruit dessert; Wednesday, cheese manicotti oven bake, romaine and spinach salad, sliced peaches, spice cake; Thursday, baked rosemary chicken, sweet potato, caulifl ower, cornbread, grapes; Friday, lemon pepper fish, garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus, pineapple, multigrain bread, cookie.
