Shirley Ann (Frankki) Smith, 86, of Medford, went home to be with her heavenly father on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 23 at the First Baptist Church, 751 Grace Way in Medford, with Rev. George Myers officiating, followed by a meal in the church fellowship hall. After lunch, burial will be at Mount Nebo Cemetery in town of Jump River.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Saturday at the church.

Shirley was born March 3, 1938, in Medford to John and Alma (Leino) Frankki. She grew up in Ogema and graduated from Westboro High School, class of 1956.

In 1957, she married Jack Smith. Together, they had four children and a happy life together.

She and Jack lived much of their marriage in Mukwonago, where Shirley worked at Amron, Vollmer Brothers Garage, and was a poll worker at the Town of Mukwonago for over 20 years. After Jack’s retirement in 2001, they returned to Taylor County where they have resided since.

Shirley loved spending time with others and enjoyed her time with the Smith Settlement Ladies Aid, Medford Reads, and Red Hats. She also had many hobbies including reading, crafts, quilting, painting, bowling, rosemaling and snuggling with her sweet kitty Dolly. Shirley will be dearly missed by so many.

She is survived by her husband, Jack of Medford; daughters, Connie Smith, Virginia (Keith) Haag, Julie (Randy) Hink; son, Brian (Vicki) Smith; grandchildren, Martin (Dawn) Haag, Rachel (Shane) Schickowski, Anthony (Sara) Hink, Stephanie (Dan) Pauly, Faith Smith; great grandchildren, Oliver Schickowski, Greyson Hink, Jaxton Hink, Brinley Hink and Anna Pauly. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Linda (Ron) Schmitt of Waukesha, Elaine (Jim) Leppala of Michigan, Carol (Fuzzy) Ellenbecker, Jim (Dorothy) Frankki, all of Medford, Paul (Judy) Frankki of Stetsonville; sisters-in-law, Janice Frankki of Medford, Lois Ogle of Perkinstown and Diane Disinger of Ind.; brother-in-law, Larry Rogers of Waukesha; numerous nieces and nephews.; and her cat, Dolly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Charles in infancy, John, George, Alfred, and Richard Frankki, Alice Rogers, Ethel Stenberg, and Ruth Dupuis; and twin great-granddaughters, Bella and Bria Hink.
