Mary Ann Leffel

Mary Ann Leffel, age 97, of Colby, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the Colonial Center in Colby under the tender care of St. Croix Hospice.

A funeral service will be held Friday, April 11, 2025. at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, with Pastor James Groleau presiding. Family, friends and neighbors are welcome for a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church. Burial will follow at the Colby Memorial Cemetery. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Colby is entrusted with the arrangements.

Mary Ann was bom on June 14, 1927, the daughter of Joseph and Magdalene Imbach in Medford. On June 19, 1964, she was united in marriage to Henry Leffel, Jr. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1996. Mary Ann worked at Land O’ Lakes for many years.

Mary Ann loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, flower gardening, feeding and watching the birds, playing the accordion and organ, singing and attending church services. Mary Ann also volunteered at Zion Lutheran Daycare and Colby Elementary School. She was always lending a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors.

Mary Ann is survived by her seven children: Shirley (Dennis Leffel), Kathy (John) Bohman, Dick (Lynn) Stibbe, Joe Stibbe (Diane), Alice Buchholz, Arlene (Mike) Bronk and Vem (Vicki) Leffel; a son-in-law, Jerry (Jan) Dahlke; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and three greatgreat-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Marcella Judnic; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters: Mary Stibbe and Carol Dahlke; a brother, Joe Imbach; two sisters: Margaret Fleegel and Maggie Gumz, and a sonin-law, Kevin Buchholz. A special thank you to the Colonial Center nurses and CNA staff and St. Croix Hospice for all the love and support you gave to Grandma during her journey. She loved you all!
