It is exciting to report to you from the Loyal Middle/High School Art Department this month. The following five students’ art were selected for the Regional Show in Chippewa Falls for Youth Art Month during the month of March: Alexis Meyer, 12th grade; Madelyn Suda, 10th grade; Tallulah Whitegull, 11th grade; Mackenzie Hahn, 11th grade; and Payten Wolf, 10th grade.

The following three students went on to state in Madison for the Youth Art Month Celebration on March 28 at the East Towne Mall: (to right) Alexis Meyer, (far right) Madelyn Suda, and Tallulah Whitegull. Congratulations to Alexis Meyer for her photo weaving winning the Nasco High School Award!

We also have had many students win awards for the Wisconsin Junior Duck Stamp Competition, both middle school and high school. Maci Lindner, age 13, took second place and Jenna Haufe took an honorable mention in their division.

For high school, Kendra Seefeld and Madelyn Suda, both age 16, took second place awards for their designs, and Payten Wolf, Harlee Colby, Shaun Cambell, Rachael Matteson, and Mackenzie Hahn all took honorable mentions in their division. Congratulations on this achievement!

Currently the Loyal Art Department is getting ready to celebrate the Cloverbelt Art Show, which will be in Augusta at the high school this year. Twenty pieces of art will be selected from students’ work.

Community Night is on Tuesday, April 29, from 4:30-6 p.m. The student show will be Wednesday, April 30, from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Stop out to see all of the wonderful works on display. Four middle school students currently have their work up at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum for the Student Art Show in Wausau. Congratulations to Vanessa Reis, Ben Kadolph, Ridge Duell, and Cheyenne Luchterhand for having their work selected to be on display for this prestigious show!
