As the lone competitor at State wrestling, Feb. 27-March 1, Cadott senior Kaleb Lodahl (113 pounds) went in with some experience under his belt, as a three-time qualifier.

“I am incredibly proud of Kaleb and all he has achieved during his time as a Hornet,” said coach Josh Spaeth. “He has made tremendous strides, as both an athlete and a person.

That previous experience was needed, as he faced Lomira’s Jordan Lisiecki, but fell, in a close 3-0 decision.

He then moved onto the consolation round, where he went up against Josue Azuara, of Weyauwega, winning that match, by technical fall. Lodahl then wrestled Shiocton’s Holdyn Volkman, for a chance to be in the fifth place match, but it wasn’t to be and Lodahl’s high school career ended there, just short of a podium spot.

Over his 4 years, Lodahl collected 148 wins.

“Although this may not have been the outcome he hoped for, I have no doubt he will bounce back and tackle his next challenge, with the heart of a true champion,” said Spaeth. “Kaleb has so much to be proud of.”
