Ruth E. Komarek
Ruth E. Komarek, age 77, of Westboro, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Rib Lake Health Services. Ruth was born in South Milwaukee, on Oct. 17, 1947, to the late Randall and Joyce (Wesley) Thompson. She was married to Ronald Komarek on Feb. 10, 1969; he survives. Ruth attended Rawson Avenue Grade School in South Milwaukee, the Greenlawn School in Oak Creek, and the Parkway School in South Milwaukee until her family moved to a farm in Manawa. There, Ruth attended Spring Brook Elementary School and the Manawa High School. Her family later moved to a farm in Iola, where she was a 1965 graduate of the Iola-Scandinavia High School. In 1966, she moved with her family to South Milwaukee. Ruth was employed at Allen-Bradley and then Briggs & Stratton. While working at Briggs & Stratton, she became friends with the girls from Rib Lake, and while visiting the area, she met the love of her life, Ron Komarek, in 1968. Ruth

moved to the Northwoods when they were married in 1969. She was a devoted mother who loved raising her four boys with Ron. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and sewing…many quilts and clothing were made with love by Ruth.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Ronald Komarek; her sons, Greg (Lisa) Komarek, Ted (Amy) Komarek, and Ray (Sarah) Komarek; her siblings, Ray Thompson, Charles (Nola) Thompson, Barbara (Peter) Jacobson, and Julie Austin; her sisters-in-law, Barbara Thompson and Jacquelyn Thompson; and her brotherin- law, Steve Cournia. Ruth is further survived by her grandchildren, Samantha (Clayton) McTaggart, Katie (Cole) Harvey, Autumn Komarek, Eli Komarek, Ethan Komarek, Joyce Komarek, Brianna (Drew) Rohde, and Alyssa Schellin; in addition to two great-grandbabies due in Aug. and Sept.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Randall and Joyce; her son, Ronald Komarek, Jr.; her brothers, Randall Thompson and infant Paul Thompson; and her sister, Paula Cournia.
