Getting a ride doesn’t have to be stressful or expensive
By Ginna Young Lifelong Cadott/Cornell area resident Michael Weiland, knows firsthand, how difficult it can be to find a ride at times, which means missing work or appointments. But, it doesn’t have to be that way, especially for rural areas, which is where Worryfree Transport comes in.
Weiland started the ride share business to ensure that people have access to transportation to where they need to go.
“It’s starting small, but the option’s there for them,” said Weiland. For now, it’s just him and his future wife, but Weiland plans to add more drivers as they grow. Originally, they wanted to open in April, but Weiland is now accepting appointments.
“Everything came together a little quicker than that,” said Weiland.
When dealing with the non-emergency medical portion of the business, Weiland went through Inclusa, to prove the company is an authorized transporter. Weiland is no stranger to this, as he’s worked for another company before and is the primary care for his disabled uncle.
A customer pays nothing out of pocket if they have insurance, but if they don’t have that insurance, they can directly pay Weiland, whose rates reflect small town finances.
“I’m really just trying to give back to my little hometown and surrounding areas,” said Weiland. “Just wherever that’s really needed in this area.”
Worryfree Transport covers Cadott, Boyd, Cornell, Holcombe, and possibly as far as Gilman and other rural places, which includes getting to work or the grocery store.
“Ride share covers everything,” said Weiland. “It’s not just going to an appointment or anything medical.”
Weiland wants to eventually get another van and have enough staff that they can run around the clock, but for now, he asks that people message him, at 715-306-0813, on the website, at worryfreetransport.net, or through their Facebook page and he will arrange his schedule, no matter the time.
“It’s a rewarding job that you can help,” said Weiland. “I know what it’s like. Everybody needs a ride.”
