Paul Oberholtzer
Paul W. Oberholtzer, age 84 years, 6 months, and 20 days, of Curtiss, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025.
Services were at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, at Pine Grove Mennonite Church in Granton. His final resting place was at Indian Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Memphis, Mo. Bishop David Martin, Steven Hoover, and Michael Martin officiated in Wisconsin; and Bishop Luke Fox and Leonard Musser officiated in Missouri. Visitation was on Sunday, Feb. 23, from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m., at the Green Grove Mennonite Fellowship Center (N12253 County Road P, Owen), and on Tuesday, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at Hillcrest Mennonite Community Center south of Memphis, Mo.
Paul was the husband of Mary Edna Oberholtzer (Hoover), his wife of 37 years. To this union, two children were born: Nathan (Lillian) Oberhotzer of Athens, and Mary Beth Oberholtzer of Curtiss. He shared 24 years of marriage with Anna Oberholtzer (Good), who preceded him in death in 1986. To this union, nine children were born: Regina (Marcus) Good of Edina, Mo., Paul Wesley (Loretta) Oberholtzer of Loyal, Philip (Shirley) Oberholtzer of Loyal, Joseph (Lydia May) Oberholtzer of Granton, Jeffrey (Christine) Oberholtzer of Neillsville, Faith (Delmar) Martin of Memphis, Mo., Anna Mae (Vernon) Martin of Rutledge, Mo., Melinda (Darrell) Zimmerman of Owen, and Joel Oberholtzer, who preceded him in death in 1986. He is also survived and remembered by 67 grandchildren and 109 great-grandchildren, of which four of them preceded him in death: Karla Jane, Darlene, and Anne Oberholtzer, and Seth Zimmerman.
Paul was survived by one sister, Esther Huber of Rutledge, Mo.; three brothers: Lloyd (Esther) Oberholtzer of Richland, Pa., Irvin Oberholtzer of Rutledge, Mo., and Abner (Leora) Oberholtzer of Wyaconda, Mo.; and two sisters-in-law: Miriam Oberholtzer of Baring, Mo., and Alma Oberholtzer of Owen.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Levi and Lizzie Oberholtzer; two brothers, LeRoy Oberholtzer and Amos Oberholtzer; two sisters, Anna Hoover and Grace Huber; two brothers-in-law, Edwin Hoover and Martin Huber; and two sisters-in-law, Verna Oberholtzer and Edith Oberholtzer.
Paul and Anna were united in marriage on March 10, 1962. For many years, they were dairy farmers. They moved their family to Missouri in 1974, and then to Wisconsin in 1985. Anna was taken home in a tragic accident one year after the move. On March 15, 1987, Paul married Mary Edna Hoover.
Paul was a faithful member at Pine Grove Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference). He will be missed by his many friends and family. It was his desire that we meet him over there.
