Schroeder gets 1,000th point in front of her fans

For the second time in her high school career, Cornell senior Bralee Schroeder has been treated to a surprise, dealing with the number 1,000. The first was when she reeled in 1,000 assists last fall, on the volleyball court and the other came, Feb. 14, at home with Birchwood, for a girls basketball game.
There, just a few minutes after coming out of halftime, Schroeder knocked in her 1,000th point.
“I knew I was close, I just didn’t know how close, definitely not expecting to that game,” she said.
Some high scorers may focus on just their shooting, but for Schroeder, she is all about her team and playing an all-around game. It makes it all the sweeter that the feat happened on Valentine’s Day, in front of the home crowd.
“I feel really happy about it and accomplished,” said Schroeder. “It’s a super good feeling.”
