Cadott grapplers have a promising future ahead

It was off to River Falls, Dec. 27-28, for the Cadott boys wrestling program, as they took part in the Northern Badger Classic.
“Every wrestler found success in their own right,” said coach Josh Spaeth. “The team continues to get better, each and every day.”
Earning top honors, was senior Kaleb Lodahl (120 pounds), who competed in the championship match, but fell to Garrett DeLong, of Saint Croix Central, in a 4-0 decision. Sophomore Jon Phelps (150) then claimed seventh place, winning his match over DePere’s Jack Gretzinger, by fall, in 2:41, while sophomore Owen Fasbender (157) was ninth, winning over Brock Wood, Glenwood City, by a 4-2 decision.
Unable to place, but still competing, the remaining members of the team gained valuable experience.
“I was very happy on how our athletes competed,” said Spaeth. “They will be a force to reckon with in the future.”
