1952-2024

Penny L. (Stewart) Bryn, 72, passed away peacefully on Dec. 14, 2024 with her husband, Dennis, at her side. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Penny was born on Sept. 29, 1952 and grew up in Rib Lake, graduating from the Rib Lake High School. After high school she cared for patients at nursing homes in Rib Lake and Wausau. While in Wausau she met and married Dennis, her husband of 46 years. There she built a meaningful career as the owner of Kids of the Kingdom Child Care Center, a business that reflected her dedication to caregiving and love of children. In her leisure time she loved to visit with family and friends, go on weekend camping trips, and boating. In her retirement years, Penny relocated with Dennis to Myrtle Beach, S.C., where she embraced a new chapter.

During retirement, she became an avid football fan and cheered on her home state teams, the Badgers and Packers, as well as the Clemson Tigers and Carolina Panthers. Outside of football season, Penny spent her time researching ancestry and the Myrtle Beach area as well as exploring the neighboring small towns and collecting model trains. She particularly enjoyed watching the boats go through the ocean canal from her living room window.

Penny is lovingly remembered by her husband, Dennis; three daughters, Lori (Alex) Blennert of Wake Forest, N.C., Shandy (Stan) Roberts of Stevens Point, and Kara (Luke) Degner of Clyman. She is also survived by her father, Leroy Stewart of Rib Lake; brothers James Stewart of Eau Claire, Robert and Thomas Stewart of Rib Lake; stepsister Dawn (Larry) Zentner of Sun Prairie; and stepbrother Dale Rude residing in Montana. She is further survived by her six grandchildren, Monique, Zander, and Jennica Roberts and Arriana, Joshua, and Joel Degner.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Kline; brother, Richard Stewart; stepmother, Jan Stewart; and stepfather, Charles Kline.

Penny’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May her legacy bring comfort to those she leaves behind.

In accordance with her wishes no funeral service will be held and the family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org/donate.
