Carol Ann (Yohnk) Dressel Carroll
Carol Ann (Yohnk) Dressel Carroll, 83, Holcombe, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024.
Carol was born June 18, 1941, to Alfred and Alberta (Warner) Yohnk in Cornell.
She graduated from Cornell High School in 1959, and four months later, Sept. 5, she married her high school sweetheart, Duane Dressel.
Carol and Duane farmed in Holcombe. Together, they had three daughters β Michelle, Dooper and Melanie.
They bought the Big Minnow in Holcombe, in 1983, and ran it until 2017. Carol was affectionately known as βMa Minnow.β
Carol and Duane spent many happy years together, until Duaneβs passing in 2002.
She married Bill Carroll, July 13, 2005, and they also had many happy years together, until his passing in 2017.
Carol enjoyed flower gardens, reading, snowmobiling and square dancing. She also loved sewing, quilting, knitting and crocheting. Over the years, Carol has made, and donated, many hats and mittens to the Lake Holcombe School District.
She and Duane were also two of the founders of the 4th of July Fun Fest in Holcombe.
Carol loved her family, her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved when everyone would gather at her house for the holidays.
She is survived by her two daughters β Michelle (Tony) Fasbender and Dooper (Rick) Weber; grandchildren β Jake (Kari) Hetchler, Stuart (Chandra) Fasbender, Zach (Danielle) Weber, Tucker (Janet) Hetchler, Kayla (Landon) Colbenson, Kasey (Ben) Lueck, Amber (Matt) Starkey and Holly (Matt) Morrison; great-grandchildren β Macy, Quinnlyn, Devin, Gregory, Brynlee, Sydney, Reed, Savannah, Chase, Jax, Alana, Brantley, Blake, Logan and one on the way; brother β Dale Yohnk; sister-in-law βPat Dressel; multiple nieces; nephews; cousins; and her beloved dog β Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her first husband β Duane Dressel; her second husband β Bill Carroll; her daughters β Melanie Ravenscroft and baby girl Dressel; brothers β Bob Yohnk and Neil Yohnk; brother-in-law β Don Dressel; and sisters-in-law β Corrine Yohnk and Delores Goodman.
Service will be held at noon, Sunday, Dec. 8, at Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell, with Pastor Greg Sima officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., and go until the time of service, at noon.
Interment will follow at the Cornell Cemetery, then a celebration and lunch will follow at the Big Minnow in Holcombe.
