After anxiously awaiting the opening of a new Kwik Trip in Cadott, the store is up and running, offering the community and visitors anything they want, in the way of fuel, hot food, snacks or groceries. Whether running in for a gallon of milk or stopping for a spell on a long road-trip, the location is ideal at its State Hwy. 27 property, catching traffic from State Hwy. 29. Photos by Ginna Young

It’s still hard for some to believe that Cadott is home to its very own Kwik Trip, but one only has to drive by the location on State Hwy. 27, to assure themselves it’s real. The brand new store has only been open since Aug. 22, but in its first month, it’s already seen tremendous success, not only from Cadott residents, but those from neighboring towns and passersby, coming off of State Hwy. 29.

Constructed in what used to be the spot of Jim’s Service and a private residence, the store went through about a two-year process, to come into being.

“We’ve been successful in communities just like Cadott,” said Ben Leibl, Kwik Trip public relations. “Cadott kind of checked all the boxes we had.”

Once the corporation had its eye on that location, the real estate team jumped into action. It was then a matter of purchasing the properties, and getting all the paperwork and permits completed. Once that was done, with all the I’s dotted and the T’s crossed, it took about three months to build the store and get it operational.

New stores need at least two acres for the Kwik Trip footprint, so they were pleased to find the right parcel. Leibl says they’re also very happy with the employees, and the effort they put in every day, not just in serving the customers, but keeping the store clean and functional.

“It’s a lot of hard work to keep our stores up and running,” said Leibl.

Of course, in addition to fuel, there are always specials in-store and promotions that run throughout the year, with hot food, snacks, coffee, doughnuts and more, in the way of grocery items. The store has a full checkout station, with friendly employees ready to get customers on their way, but there are also two self-checkouts (card only) for those in a big hurry.

Leibl said they are not taking anyone’s job, but the selfcheckouts are just there for convenience.

It’s also important to help the community in which they find themselves, so people are encouraged to approach Kwik Trip for a donation.

“We always partner when we can. Kwik Trip is a very generous company, giving back whenever we can,” said Leibl.

“We’re very thankful for the community of Cadott for allowing us to have a store there,” said Leibl. “We’re very excited to be in that community and be that one-stopshop for our guests.”
