The Lake Holcombe-Ladysmith-Flambeau-Bruce-Bloomer swim team was in action at home Sept. 5, hosting Colby-Abbortsford, for a dual meet.

It started well for the Tridents, with the 200-yard medley relay team of sophomores Brooklyn Adisek and Nayeli Schilling, senior Alyxandria Lunemann and junior Abby Fye, placing second. The 200-yard individual freestyle also went good for the Tridents, with senior Sarah Allard claiming first, junior Megan De-Witt in second and Fye taking third.

Schilling placed second in the 200yard individual medley, with junior Liv Repka in fourth, while DeWitt was third in the 50-yard freestyle and Adisek placed fourth. In the 100yard butterfly event, Allard ended in second, with the 100-yard freestyle a close race for second place, with sophomore Sidney Heath capturing that and junior Lyra Moffitt in fifth.

The Tridents also saw success in the 500-yard freestyle, with Schilling in second and Lunnemann claiming third place. In the 200-yard freestyle, DeWitt, Adisek, Heath and Allard swam their way to a second place finish. Moffitt took second in the 100-yard backstroke, with Heath in fourth, while in the 100-yard breaststroke, Repka was second, dropping 2 seconds from the previous week, with Fye ending in fourth place.

In the final event of the night – the 400-yard freestyle relay – Team A (Lunemann, DeWitt, Fye, Allard) came in first and Team B (Adisek, Heath, Repka, Schilling) was third.

Although Colby claimed a 9371 victory, the Trident coaches are pleased with their girls’ competitive spirit and sportsmanship.

“With the Tridents’ second meet under our belt, the coaches are very excited with how the team is competing and putting in the work to continue to improve each week,” said coach Whitney Hanson.
