Lisa M. Kestler, age 64, of Brantwood, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Lisa was born on Sept. 7, 1959, in Park Falls, to the late Tauno and Dorothy (Pemper) Maki. She grew up in Brantwood where she attended the Tripoli School and was a 1978 graduate of the Prentice High School.

Lisa was married to Darrell Kestler on Aug. 21, 1993, at their family home. She worked at Phillips Plating in Phillips, for 30-plus years making many friends along the way. She enjoyed snowmobiling and was a member of the Westboro Sno-Dusters. Lisa was also a member of the Westboro VFW Auxiliary.

Lisa loved watching her hummingbirds that came every year, cardinals, eagles, and many other birds. She enjoyed gardening, especially taking care of her many beautiful flowers. She loved spending time with her sisters, going to Winstock Music Festival, and many other music venues. She was a Dorothy’s Darling, the walk team she helped form for her mom, Dorothy, after she passed away in 2012. Lisa will be missed by many, especially her husband!

She is survived by her husband, Darrell F. Kestler, of Brantwood; her sons, Jessie (Betsy) Maki, of Tripoli, Tim (Megan) Kestler, of Medford, and Nick (Kari) Kestler, of Danbury; her sister, Laura (Ray) Varela, of St. Paul, Minn.; her brothers, Richard Maki, of Brantwood, James (Max) Maki, of South St. Paul, Minn., William (Mary) Maki, of Brantwood, and Robert (Marlys) Maki, of Rhinelander; and her ten grandchildren, Allie, Raylee, Carissa, Javon, Brayden, Gracie, Gavyn, Peyton, Mali, and Shaylee, all of Wisconsin. Lisa is further survived by eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Tauno; her uncle, Wilho Maki; her sisters, Paula Braden and Lillian Lammi; and her niece, Megan Maki.

A Celebration of Life service for Lisa Kestler will be held at Generations Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
