Lorna L. Chipman
1943-2019
Lorna L. Chipman, 76, a Medford resident, died on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital where she had been a patient for the past four days. A celebration of life visitation for Lorna will take place from 3-8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21 at Black River Golf Course in Medford. A memorial service will be held sometime in the spring of 2020. Lorna was born on April 8, 1943 in Medford, the daughter of Lorin A. and Leona A. (Dassow) Albrecht. She attended Gad Elementary School and was a 1961 graduate of Medford High School. She also attended nursing school in Milwaukee and received a bachelor’s degree from Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee. In 1965, she married Wayne Chipman at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Medford and they were later divorced. After her education, she worked as a nurse at Northwest General Hospital in Milwaukee and later worked as the director of nursing there until 1985. She worked as a hospital administrator in Gallup, New Mexico and Ludington, Mich. until retiring in 2011. In 2012 she moved to Medford to be near her family. She enjoyed scrapbooking, card making, playing cribbage, Willie Nelson music and doing area volunteer work.
Lorna is survived by her children, Tracy (Pat Beilfuss) Chipman of Menomonie and Craig Chipman of Medford; and her siblings, Gary (Georgine) Albrecht and Larry (Jane) Albrecht, both of Medford, Bruce (Diane) Albrecht of Gad and George (Donna) Albrecht of Niceville, Fla.
Her family requests any memorial contributions be given to the Taylor County Humane Society in her name.
