Terryl “Terry” A. Deml, age 79, of Edgerton, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Janesville. She was born in Clark Co, on July 9, 1945, the daughter of LeRoy and Edith “Tootie” (Amo) Engel. She was a 1963 graduate of Dor-Abby High School. Terry married Melvin L. Deml on March 4, 1972, in Medford. She was employed for many years with Gorke Bus Service in Dorchester, until relocating to Edgerton in 1986. She worked for many years as an assembler, then inspector, for Stoughton Trailers. In recent years, she once again found great joy in driving school bus for Riteway. Terry was an excellent cook and baker; She enjoyed trying new recipes and sharing her baked goods with loved ones, always bringing a dessert to any function. During the warmer seasons, Terry would spend the days in her yard tending to her garden. She was an avid Wisconsin sports fan. She enjoyed watching the Badgers, Packers, Brewers and the WIAA basketball tournaments every year. Terry also carried her nickels with her everywhere, in case anyone wanted to play a few hands of sheephead.

Terry is survived by her husband, Mel of 52 years; four children, Sarah Cliver of Unity, Michael (Louise) Hackel of Greenwood, Jill (Joseph) DuPont of Waterford, and Eric (Cindy) Deml of Evansville; ten grandchildren, Shawn, Jacob, Michael, Hunter, Natalie, Luke, Logan, Holden, Noah and Camden; five greatgrandchildren; four sisters; Cathy (Allan) Peissig, Barb (Jeff) Bublitz, Beaner (Randy) Stockwell and Jaycine (Gary) Geiger; sisters-in-law, Shirley Kellnhofer and Mary Deml; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; motherin- law, Kathryn Deml; siblings, Susie Newcomb, and Dennis Engel and his wife, Jan; sister-in-law, Joan Diedrich and her husband, Raymond; brother-in-law, Ted Kellnhofer; and nephew, Curt Sundin.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Apfel Ehlert Funeral Home, 315 Lord St. (Hwy 51) Edgerton. Memorials can be made to Dorchester Park General Fund. For on-line condolences: www.apfelfuneral.com
