Gordon Vern Hetchler, 81, passed away at Dove Healthcare in Bloomer, Monday, July 15, 2024.

Gordon was born Sept. 19, 1942, in Cornell, to Francis and Helen (Halvorson) Hetchler.

He married the love of his life, Cindy Lou Woodcock, Sept. 6, 1969, in Chippewa Falls. Together. they lived and raised their children in Bloomer, New Auburn and Tilden.

Growing up, Gordon loved to farm with his dad and was eventually able to own his own hobby farm in New Auburn. He enjoyed woodcutting and camping at Wapogasset Lake, in Amery, with family.

He worked for Uniroyal-Goodrich Tire Company, for many years.

Gordon loved to fish and hunt, and was always up for a good game of checkers or sheepshead, with family and friends. He will forever be remembered for his altruistic nature, always putting others first and his willingness to help anyone out who needed a hand.

He is survived by his children – Traci Hetchler, Ft. Myers, Fla., Tricia (Dan) Wilkinson, Chippewa Falls, Tony (Jackie) Hetchler, River Falls, and Todd Hetchler, Tilden; four grandchildren – Ashley, Elizabeth, Matthew and Evan; two step-grandchildren – Emma and Vinny; one great-grandchild – Kyla; a brother – Gary (Bonnie) Hetchler; a half-brother – Neal Hetchler; and many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife – Cindy Lou Hetchler, in 2015; his parents – Francis and Helen Hetchler; and half-brother – Kenny Hetchler.

Private graveside services will be held at the Bloomer Cemetery.
