Marathon High School was this summer’s host

Marathon High School hosted the Badger State Games track and field state meet on June 24. Curt Miller, Marathon middle/high school athletic director, provided information on how the athletes competing from Athens and Marathon placed at the Badger State Games.

The following is how the six Athens athletes fared at the Badger State Games: Cade Ellenbecker took third place in the men’s ages 19-29 pole vault with 11 feet, six inches; Samuel Hartwig placed first in the boys ages 9-10 shot put with 20 feet, one inch; Ryan Peel placed fourth in the boys ages 17-18 pole vault with 12 feet; Malaina Telschow placed first in the girls ages 15-16 pole vault with nine feet; Lucas Uekert placed third in the boys ages 9-10 400-meter dash in one minute, 22.43 seconds, eighth in the 200-meter dash in 41.94 seconds and 10th in the long jump with nine feet and Morgan Uekert placed seventh in the girls ages 9-10 100-meter dash in 17.80 seconds, sixth in the 200-meter dash in 39.56 seconds and ninth in the long jump with eight feet, three inches.

Marathon athletes

The following is how the 23 Marathon athletes fared at the Badger State Games: Aessah Arneson took fifth place in the girls age 13-14 shot put with 26 feet and fifth in the discus with 63 feet, six inches; Cordelia Arneson placed second in the girls ages 11-12 400-meter dash in one minute, 35.38 seconds, sixth in the long jump with seven feet, eight inches and fifth in the shot put with 17 feet, seven inches; Drake Carlson placed first in the men’s open ages 19-29 100-meter wheelchair in 21.64 seconds, first in the 400-meter wheelchair in 1:12.33, first in the 800-meter wheelchair in 2:26.54 and first in the shot put with 18 feet, seven inches.

Also, Hadley Frahm placed ninth in the girls ages 9-10 100-meter dash in 21.38 seconds, fifth in the 200-meter dash in 39.12 seconds, fifth in the long jump with nine feet, eight inches and fourth in the shot put with 13 feet, four inches; Sawyer Frahm placed 12th in the boys 8 and ynder 100-meter dash in 21.38 seconds, achieved 46.41 seconds in the 200-meter dash and was 15th in the long jump with four feet, 11 inches; Ethan Huebsch placed fourth in the boys ages 15-16 1,500-meter run in 5:11.64, fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:35.74 and third in the triple jump with 28 feet, 11 inches.

In addition, Anya Jacobson placed third in the girls ages 11-12 100-meter dash in 17.60 seconds, third in the shot put with 20 feet, 10 inches and fourth in the discus with 56 feet, two inches; Everett Jacobson placed fifth in the boys ages 9-10 shot put with 13 feet, eight inches; Braxton Kilty placed in the boys ages 11-12 long jump with 11 feet, three inches, fourth in the high jump with three feet, eight inches and second in the shot put with 24 feet, two inches and Carson Kilty placed sixth in the boys eight and under long jump with 11 feet, three inches and 16th in the long jump with four feet, nine inches.

Also, Chris Marcell placed second in the boys 15-16 long jump with 18 feet, six inches, first in the shot put with 38 feet, nine inches and first in the discus with 142 feet, one inch; Alec Miller placed first in the boys ages 13-14 pole vault with nine feet, six inches; Blake Miller placed second in the boys ages 11-12 400-meter dash in 1:16.22, third in the long jump with 12 feet, 10 inches and second in the high jump with three feet, 10 inches; Reid Passehl placed third in the boys ages 13-14 100-meter dash in 13.12 seconds and fourth in the triple jump with 30 feet, six inches; Eddie Patten placed third in the boys ages 11-12 400-meter dash in 1:27.88, sixth in the 200-meter dash in 39.23 seconds and eighth in the long jump with nine feet, six inches.

In addition, Lucy Patten placed in the girls ages eight and under long jump with six feet, three inches and first in the shot put with 10 feet, five inches; Cael Riesgraf placed third in the boys ages 13-14 triple jump with 31 feet, eight inches and second in the high jump with five feet; Brayson Schneider placed second in the boys ages 11-12 long jump with 13 feet, three inches and second in the pole vault with seven feet and Adalee Schuda placed sixth in the girls ages 13-14 100-meter dash in 14.94 seconds and fourth in the long jump with 12 feet, 11 inches.

Also, Jared Sweno placed second in the men’s ages 19-29 400-meter dash in 1:00.56; Preston Wirkus placed fourth in the men’s ages 19-29 pole vault with 10 inches; the 8 and under girls 4x100meter relay team of Lucy Patten and Harper Deaver of Marathon and Aaliyah and Laney Nelson of Amherst placed first in 1:22.72; the boys ages 13-14 4x100-meter relay A of Cameron Sessions, Reid Passehl, Alec Miller and Cael Risegraf placed first in 55.88 seconds; the boys ages 13-14 4x100meter relay B of Eddie Patten, Blake Miller and Brayson Schneider of Marathon and Kellen Ikert of Weston placed second in 59.05 seconds and the boys ages 13-14 4x400-meter relay of Brayson Schneider, Reid Passehl, Alec Miller and Cael Risegraf placed first in 4:44.90.
