Accident reports

Tylor A. Zondlo, 25, Rib Lake, and Bobby L. Stubbs II, 50, Rib Lake, were involved in an accident on June 30 at 6:19 p.m. on Hwy 102 in the town of Rib Lake. According to the accident report, motorcycles operated by Zondlo and Stubbs were northbound on Hwy 102. The Zondlo motorcycle slowed and was turning into a driveway at N8218 Hwy 102 when it was struck on the right side by the Stubbs motorcycle. Stubbs sustained suspected serious injuries and had been transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital for medical treatment before law enforcement arrived at the accident scene. The report stated Zondlo reported he had sustained injuries to his right side, but refused to be transported for medical treatment. The report went on to state Zondlo later requested an ambulance for pain related to the accident. The report stated the law enforcement officer spoke to Stubbs who said he had no memory of the accident, but did remember going in excess of the speed limit and the motorcycle getting squirrelly in a corner. Exceeding the speed limit, speeding too fast for conditions and following too close by Stubbs were listed in the report as factors in the accident. Both operators were issued a citation for operating a motorcycle without a valid license.

Stephanie D. Mann, 45, Rib Lake, and Tammy M. Frost, 61, Athens, were involved in an accident on July 7 at 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy 13 and Ann’s Way in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Mann vehicle was northbound on Hwy 13 and proceeding through the roundabout at the intersection with Ann’s Way. The Frost vehicle was westbound on Ann’s Way when the driver failed to yield the right-ofway before entering the roundabout. The Mann vehicle sustained damage to the rear passenger side bumper. The Frost vehicle sustained damage to the front bumper near the fog light.

Brian J. Parquette, 59, Mosinee, and Mary A. Peterson, 79, Medford, were involved in an accident on July 8 at 11:27 a.m. at the intersection of Hwy 13 and Allman Street in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Parquette vehicle was northbound on Hwy 13 and proceeding through the roundabout at the intersection with Allman Street. The Peterson vehicle was westbound on Allman Street when the driver failed to yield the right-of-way before entering the roundabout. Peterson stated she did not see the Parquette vehicle. The Parquette vehicle sustained damage to the right side middle and right side rear. The Peterson vehicle sustained damage to the left side front. Failure to yield the right-of-way by Peterson was listed in the report as a factor in the accident.

William P. Pretasky, 67, La Crosse, and Brenda M. Doberstein, 62, Medford, were involved in an accident on July 13 at 8:18 a.m. at the intersection of Hwy 13 and Ann’s Way in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, both vehicles were southbound on Hwy 13 and proceeding through the roundabout at the intersection with Ann’s Way. The Pretasky vehicle was in the left (inside lane) and the Doberstein vehicle was in the outside lane. The driver of the Doberstein vehicle wanted to continue around the roundabout to exit onto Ann’s Way and proceeded to change lanes, colliding with the Pretasky vehicle. Doberstein stated she looked but did not see the Pretasky vehicle prior to changing lanes. Pretasky stated he had a pre-existing back condition and as a result of the accident, his back condition may have been agitated. He was not transported for medical treatment. The Pretasky vehicle sustained minor damage to the right front corner. The Doberstein vehicle sustained minor damage to the left side front and left side middle. Looked but did not see by Doberstein was listed in the report as a factor in the accident.

Jason E. Wickersheim, 27, Medford, and Nancy A. Higgins, 62, Medford, were involved in an accident on July 15 at 10 a.m. in a parking lot at 217 N. Eighth St. in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Wickersheim vehicle was backing out of a parking space when the corner of the rear bumper struck the corner of the rear bumper of the Higgins vehicle. As the Wickersheim vehicle pulled forward, the bumpers were hooked together, causing additional damage.

Hit-and-run accidents

Gregory E. Frenzel, 41, Medford, Cody R. Stibbe, 35, Rib Lake, and an unknown vehicle were involved in a hit-and-run accident on June 29 at 6:37 a.m. in a parking lot at 940 S. Whelen Ave. in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Frenzel and Stibbe vehicles were legally-parked and unoccupied in a parking lot when they were struck by an unknown vehicle, which left the scene. The Frenzel vehicle sustained minor damage to the rear bumper cover. The Stibbe vehicle sustained scratches to the rear bumper.

A vehicle owned by John A. Koren, Medford, and an unknown vehicle were involved in a hit-and-run accident on July 16 in a parking lot at W7944 Perkinstown Ave. in the town of Hammel. According to the accident report, the Koren vehicle was legally-parked and unoccupied in the lot when it was struck by an unknown vehicle, causing damage to the left rear corner. The unknown vehicle then left the scene.

Deer-related accidents

The following deer-related accidents were reported: Jessica L. Hoff, 35, Athens, on July 13 at 6:25 a.m. on CTH A in the town of Deer Creek.

Eugene R. Glebke, 65, Gilman, on July 13 at 9:45 p.m. on Hwy 64 in the town of Aurora.

Ivan J. Hubbard, 56, Medford, on July 14 at 5:05 a.m. on CTH E in the town of Holway.

Diana K. Hamilton, 74, Sheldon, on July 16 at 2 p.m. on CTH H in the town of McKinley.
