Crashes with injuries

On June 22 at 3:53 p.m., a vehicle operated by Macie Geiger, 16, of Medford, was traveling eastbound on Apple Ave. when Geiger lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle entered the ditch, striking a fence post and tree. Geiger sustained a suspected minor injury. Geiger was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control.

Single Vehicle crashes

On June 25 at 1:30 a.m., a vehicle operated by Hudson Brost, 18, of Medford, was traveling eastbound on CTH M. While the vehicle operated by Brost was traveling, wind from the storm knocked over a tree, which landed on the roof of the vehicle.

Two vehicle crash

On June 28 at 5:39 p.m., a vehicle driven by Barbara Lackershire, 41, of Ogema, was backing out of a parking space located in the parking lot of Walmart in Medford. A vehicle driven by Cheyenne Reinke, 32, of Medford, was traveling eastbound in the parking lot, behind the vehicle operated by Lackershire. Lackershire backed her vehicle out in a southeast direction, striking Reinke’s vehicle with the rear side of her vehicle. Reinke stated she was focused on the parking spot she wanted, so she did not initially see Lackershire backing out of the parking space. Lackershire stated she had clearance and was slowly backing out of the parking space. Lackershire stated there was no damage to her vehicle due to the crash. Lackershire admitted to driving to Walmart and was issued citations for operating without insurance and expired registration. Lackershire told Officer Berg of the Medford Police Department she was on her way to the DMV to get these issues fixed because the DMV was open on Mondays. She stated she then realized it was a Friday, so she came to Walmart.

Car vs Deer

On June 26 at 9:35 p.m., a vehicle operated by Shannon Lechleitner, 46, of Stanley, struck a deer while driving westbound on STH 64 in the town of Aurora.

On June 26 at 9:11 p.m., a vehicle operated by Robin Dietrich, 30, of Menomonie, struck a deer while driving southbound on STH 73 in the town of Cleveland.

On June 21 at 3:59 a.m., a vehicle operated by John Scott, 33, of Gilman, struck a deer while driving southbound on STH 73 in the town of Cleveland.
