Alma Sensenig
Alma H. Sensenig, age 66 years, 8 months and 7 days, of Curtiss, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
A service was held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 7, 2021, at Clark View Mennonite Church in the Town of Longwood. Her final resting place will be at the church cemetery. Paul Wesley Oberholtzer, Elvin Hoover, Randall Martin and Jerry Brubaker presided. Pallbearers were, Leroy Sensenig, Landis Sensenig, Elam Ray Sensenig, Arlan Sensenig, Leon Eberly and Vernon Sensenig. Visitation was on Sunday, June 6, 2021, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Melvin’s Sensenig residence (W3426 Willow Rd. Curtiss).
Alma was born on September 26, 1954, in Lancaster County, Pa., the daughter of Frank and Rebecca (Hoover) Hoover. She was united in marriage to Melvin Sensenig on April 10, 1975, in Pennsylvania. Alma and Melvin lived in Lancaster County, Pa. before moving to Wisconsin in 1978, where they farmed. Alma enjoyed making quilts and being a seamstress for many years. Nearing retirement age she started a bakery “Grandma’s Oven”, which she loved until the day she died. She also loved to cook up a big meal for children and grandchildren.
Alma is survived by her husband, Melvin; children: Leroy of Lancaster, Pa., Landis (Rhoda), Elam Ray (Esther Mae), Arlan (Margaret), Darlene (Leon) Eberly, Vernon and Louella, all of Clark County; 31 grandchildren; a brother, Frank (Lena Mae); and four sisters: Mary (Elvin) Martin, Vera (Harvey) Brubaker, Frances (John Daniel) Newsswanger and Ella Leid. She is further survived by Melvin’s siblings: Vera Mae Weaver, Irene (Ammon) Zimmerman, Minerva (Eli) Newswanger, Verna (Aaron) Nolt and Alta Faye (Marvin) Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rebecca; a stillborn son, Darrell; two sisters: Anna Mae Hoover and Martha (Edwin) Sensenig; and two brothers-in-law, Melvin Leid and Melvin Weaver.
