Beverly Sharon Krank
Beverly Sharon Krank, 81, Cornell, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024, in the comfort of her own home, with her husband of 50 years, and her son, Stephen, at her side.
Beverly was born Dec. 16, 1942, in Hennepin, Minn., to Homer and Evelyn (Larson) Ward.
Beverly Ward was united in marriage to Bill Krank, Nov. 3, 1973, in Water Town, S.D.
She moved to Cornell, in 1973, with her two children, Stephen and Scott. The move from Crystal, Minn., to Cornell, made Beverly a little uncertain, as she was not used to the small town atmosphere, but in no time, Cornell was their home.
Bill and Beverly opened a machine shop, Custom Machine Products, on Main Street. They soon outgrew the shop on Main Street, moving the business to its current location on Woodside Drive. They ran Custom Machine Products for 30 years.
She worked in sales for the business, but when needed, she stepped behind the scenes, working on the line in the shop, running equipment and helping in anyway she could.
Her next journey began in opening up Pine Drive Bar and Restaurant in Holcombe, where they ran it for three wonderful years, before starting BBK Sports in Holcombe, as well.
Beverly was always known to be a classy woman; she could pull off her cowboy hat with style and charisma.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years – Bill Krank, also known as “Willis,” by Beverly, the love of her life; son – Stephen (Karen) Bonander; step-son – Jerry (Joni) Krank; step-daughters – Bonnie Krank and Sharen (Tim) Dewanz; grandchildren – Hope Kruchten, Nick (Jennifer) Bonander, Erica (Kevin) Gingras, Erin (Jason) Ewings, Tabitha (Austin) Bonander, Kandice (Garett) Thon, Bianca (Levi) Jordan, Brad Berreman, Corrie Wajek (Bob), Jeremy and Christopher Krank, Josh (Sarah) Myers, Jordan (Christina) Myers and Nikeisha (Jake) Finn; great-grandchildren – Dean Olson, Caleb Olson, James Kruchten, Riley and Brooke Gingras, Morgan Thompson, Makenzie Estes, Bryanna Bonander, Bryan Sweeney, Faye and Bo Flater, Kane and Pierce Thon, Cooper, Harrison, and Elliott Jordan, Ty and Cullen Wajek, Logan, Lucas, and Norah Myers, Owen Myers and Louis Finn; greatgreat- grandchildren – Elizabeth and Laine Estes, and Gentry Bowe; and her sister – Kathleen Lucht.
She was preceded in death by her father – Homer Ward; mother – Evelyn Ward; brother – Robert Ward; sister – Marlene Ward; and her son – Scott Bonander.
Services were held at First Presbyterian Church in Cornell, Wednesday, July 10, with a visitation from 1-2 p.m., and the funeral service starting at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Beverly Thompson officiating. Interment was at the Cornell Cemetery, following the service.
