Huey’s Hideaway continues capital campaign
Huey’s Hideaway Children’s Museum is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that opened its doors to area families and the Medford community on June 8, 2017. Through fundraising efforts and generous donation and volunteers, an old apartment and commercial space was turned into a wonderland of learning.
As with any old building, it needs repairs and updates. Huey’s hosts small fundraisers to support programming, exhibits and educational tools throughout the year, but there isn’t extra funding to cover the estimated cost of repairs.
In June, 2023, Huey’s Board of Directors and volunteers launched a Capital Campaign to address the costs for building repairs and future needs. To date, the Campaign has raised over 75% of the goal of $20,000. With the immediate needs of a new roof, the additional funds are more important than ever before.
“The roof is very old and no longer protecting our building,” explains Monica Halopka, Executive Director. “We are so fortunate with the support from the community in the last 10 months to get us to this point so we can make the building repairs needed. We are so close to reaching our goal and are hopeful to meet it in the next couple months.”
Huey’s is asking for your support. To help them with the roof repairs and other repairs to the Children’s Museum, considerdonating. Contributions are tax-deductible.

The mission of Huey’s Hideaway is to inspire children, connect families and build community through exploration, creativity, lifelong learning, and play and this is all done with the help of generous volunteers and businesses who believe in that mission.
