Two arrested in Abby NAPA burglary case
Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the masked burglary of the NAPA store in Abbotsford that occurred on February 20. One suspect was apprehended and subsequently arrested by the Colby-Abbotsford Police Department in Unity and another was arrested by the Marshfield Police Department.
The two were caught after about two weeks of investigations by the CAPD.
Police Chief Alex Bowman said as of Monday, March 4, that one of the two suspects was caught with tools that were reported stolen from the store.
“We conducted a search warrant on one of the suspects residences in Unity and located several of the stolen tools from NAPA,” Bowman said in an email. “Neither of the individuals have been formally charged yet by our police department. Both are sitting on probation warrants/holds currently. One in Marathon County the other in Wood County.”
He continued to say the duo were expected to have charges formally filed against them later in the week.
The robbery occurred in the early morning hours of February 20 and approximately $1,200 in cash and more value in tools were taken from the business. The suspects cut through the metal siding and spent approximately 20 minutes in the store gathering tools and breaking into safes. Tools were found in the woods east of NAPA along with tracks and blood on a bungee strap.
Cameras caught the suspects but the police department put out a social media request for information in identifying the suspects.
The Tribune-Phonograph will have more information on the suspects as it becomes available to the public.
