WFCA ALL-STAR FOOTBALL - Dietzman, Duellman among North All-Stars in July football games
WFCA ALL-STAR FOOTBALL
Medford’s Max Dietzman and Gilman’s Troy Duellman have been announced as members of their respective North squads for the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association’s All-Star Charity Football Games this summer.
Duellman will play for the North squad in the eight-player all-star game, which will take place Friday, July 19 at 6 p.m. at Titan Stadium on the campus of UWOshkosh. Duellman is listed as a linebacker on the North roster.
Dietzman will play for the North team in the 11-player Large Schools All-Star Game on Saturday, July 20. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Titan Stadium and follows the noon Small Schools game. Dietzman is listed as a defensive lineman on the North roster.
Dietzman’s all-star selection follows a senior season where he was a two-way selection to the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association’s Large School All-Region 1 team and a two-way first-team selection in the Great Northern Conference.
Dietzman was easily Medford’s leader in tackles for loss with 16, an average of almost 1.5 per game, during the Raiders’ 8-3 season, which included a 6-1 mark in the GNC. He led the Raiders with 6.5 quarterback sacks from his defensive tackle position and was credited with 37 total tackles, including 23 solo stops.
Dietzman is Medford’s first WFCA All-Star since Ean Wilson was named to the 2020 North team. That game, however, was never played due to the Covid pandemic.
Bill Jacklin of Slinger is the North’s 2024 head coach. He will be assisted by Aaron Pokrzywa of Slinger, Jake Davis of Germantown, Brian Leair of Cedarburg, Jason Pittmann of Kewaskum, Ryan Eigenberger and Matt Hawley of Stevens Point and Chris Lucas of Antigo.
Dietzman is the only player from the GNC on the North roster.
Duellman was a two-way first-team selection in the Central Wisconsin East Conference as a linebacker and running back and was a first-team All-Region and All-State selection at linebacker. He was the leader of a Pirates team that went 9-1 in 2023, including a 5-0 mark in the conference.
Duellman racked up 114 total tackles in 10 games, including five quarterback sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
The Pirates have been well-represented at the eight-player All-Star game, sending two players in each of the last three seasons. Branden Ustianowski and Grady Kroeplin played defensively for the North in last year’s 74-12 blowout win.
Thorp’s Keldric “KD” Stokes is the North’s 2024 head coach. Ryan Karsten of Siren, Paul Michlig of Newman Catholic, Jimmey Lane of Thorp and Albert Goerlitz of Owen-Withee round out the coaching staff.
Along with Duellman, Central Wisconsin East players on the North roster include Thorp running back Logan Hanson, Thorp receiver Denzel Sutton, Owen-Withee defensive back Colin Dallman, Owen-Withee linebacker Ryan Nelson and Thorp offensive lineman Dorian Neisisus.
Players and coaches will be fundraising ahead of the games, which benefit Children’s Wisconsin. Since 2008, the games, players and coaches have raised about $5 million to help those the hospital supports.
