Stanley Jarzin

Stanley “Stan” Anthony Jarzin, age 79, of Colby, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Marshfield Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 7, 2023, at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. A Celebration of Life will follow after the service at the funeral home. Rev. Teri Hanson will preside.

Stan was born on September 24, 1943, the son of Stanley and Anne (Topak) Jarzynski in Superior. He was united in marriage to Jane Ewald on September 21, 1984, in Montello. He graduated from Cathedral Catholic High School in Superior and received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin - Superior.

Stan was a driver’s education teacher, geography and biology teacher and the best guidance counselor. He was a DIY kind of guy and could fix anything. He enjoyed his time watching old westerns and movies. He especially loved and cherished his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Jarzin; four children: Mick (Ann) Jarzin of Green Bay, Jim (Lisa) Ruppert of Ogema, Tom (Amy) Ruppert of Owen and Steve (Shannon) Ruppert of Colby; six grandchildren: Michael Jarzin of Utah, Abigail Jarzin of Utah, Shane (Bailey Umbs) Ruppert of Wausau, Tawny Ruppert of Owen and Emmy Ruppert of Owen, Angel (Amanda) Powell of Marshfield; two great-grandchildren, Avery and Aleaya Powell of Marshfield; sister, Joanne Williams of Idaho; brother, Tim Jarzin of Superior; and favorite companion, Stella.
