Found guilty

Michael A. Brandner, 67, of Medford, was found guilty due to a no contest plea of an amended charge of disorderly conduct, amended from reckless driving- causing bodily harm and was ordered to pay $330.50. He was found guilty due to a no contest plea of failure of operator to notify police of an accident, and was ordered to pay $389.50. A count of reckless driving - endanger safety was dismissed on a prosecutor’s motion.

Lily May Butler, 16, of Athens, was found guilty due to a no contest plea of operating a class D vehicle between hours of midnight and 5 a.m. with a probationary license, and was ordered to pay $200.50. A charge of displaying unauthorized vehicle registration plate was dismissed on a prosecutor’s motion.

Phillip Franzen, 24, of Sheldon, was found guilty due to a no contest plea of failure to keep vehicle under control and was ordered to pay $213.10. A count of operating a motor vehicle without insurance was dismissed on a prosecutor’s motion.

Deferred prosecution/sentence

A deferred entry of judgement was ordered for Mollie Danielewicz, 38, of Lublin for an amended charge of issuing worthless checks less than or equal to $2,500, a misdemeanor, amended from issuing worthless checks great than $2,500, a felony. Under the agreement, the charge was amended due to defendant paying restitution up front and in full. Court makes a finding of guilty to the amended charge. Court defers adjudication of guilty for a period of one year and adopts the Deferred Entry of Judgment Agreement. The defendant shall not commit any criminal offenses; shall notify the DA’s Office and Clerk of Court’s Office of any change in address or phone number within 10 days of the change; must comply with her bond, which continues to remain in effect during the period of this agreement with the modification to allow Danielewicz to travel to Minnesota and Iowa for work purposes. She was ordered to pay $3,274.87.

A deferred prosecution agreement was ordered for Juan Piedra Granados, 26, of Medford. He pled guilty to an amended charge of possession of THC as an ordinance violation, amended from a misdemeanor. Counts of possession of methamphetamine and possessing drug paraphernalia were dismissed but read in for sentencing purpose. The court adopted the deferred prosecution agreement and defers prosecution for a period of 2 years with the following conditions: No further law violations, compliance with all bail conditions, must pay the domestic surcharge fee of $100, complete an AODA assessment and all recommended treatment, must seek domestic violence counseling. Court makes a finding of guilty to the amended Count 2, possession of marijuana, and orders a forfeiture of $263.50 and victim/witness surcharge fee of $67. Dismissed and read in are Counts 1 and 3. Also dismissed but read in for sentencing under the terms of the deferred prosecution agreement were two counts of battery - domestic abuse. Defendant shall report to the Clerk of Court’s office to set up a payment plan of $100/month starting on February 1, 2024.

Plea agreement

As part of a plea agreement, Kamryn Harper, 19 of Medford, was found guilty due to no contest pleas to two counts of Theftx of Movable Property <=$2500 as a Party to a Crime, a class A misdemeanor, Wisconsin Statutes 943.20(1)(a). An additional four counts of Theft of Movable Property <=$2500 as a Party to a Crime were dismissed but read in for sentencing purposes. Court orders a withheld sentence and places the defendant on probation for 18 months with the following conditions: DNA sample and surcharge fees on each count; court costs on each count; no contact with the victims in this case, except for letters of apology to all victims to be completed within 30 days from sentencing, to be preapproved by the agent; Harper must obtain his high school diploma or its equivalent; Harper must complete 40 hours of community service at a location to be pre-approved by the agent; counseling as deemed appropriate by the agent. Total due $886.00. Harper to report to Clerk of Court’s office to set up a payment plan at the rate of $25/month commencing no later than January 5, 2024. Harper is eligible to apply for expungement upon successful completion of probation.

Pleas entered

Mikayla Fellenz, 25, of Owen, entered a not guilty plea to neglecting a child (specified harm did not occur). A $1,000 signature bond was ordered with the following conditions defendant shall not leave the State of Wisconsin without prior notice to and written approval of the Court. Must report to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office for Booking Procedure. Defendant must cooperate with Taylor County Human Services Department. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for February 19 at 2:30 p.m.

Christopher Haynes, 33, of Medford, pled not guilty to disorderly conduct - domestic abuse and contact after domestic abuse arrest. A $2,000 signature bond was ordered with the following conditions Defendant shall not leave the State of Wisconsin without prior notice to and written approval of the Court. Must report to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office for Booking Procedure. Defendant shall have no contact with the victim, except with law enforcement for purposes of retrieving property. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for February 19 at 3:15 p.m.
