E dgar ST. STEPHEN’S EVENTS

There will be board and card games and refreshments available on November 8, 1-3 p.m., at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 424 N. 3rd Ave.

On November 22, 1-3 p.m., bingo will be played, with refreshments available.

VETERANS DAY SCHOOL PROGRAMS

A Veterans Social will be held in the basement of St. John’s Church on Friday, November 10, from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., followed by a Veterans Days program with students at St. John’s School, from 8:50 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.

Veterans will visit K-5 classrooms at Edgar Elementary from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a veterans luncheon from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.

Edgar High School will host its annual Veterans Day program from 12:15 to 2 p.m. in its auditorium, featuring the Milwaukee War Memorial Center’s “I’m Not Invisible” project.

M arathon VETERANS DAY SCHOOL PROGRAMS

The Marathon American Legion Post 469 will present programs to the three area schools on November 9. Programs will be held at the elementary/middle school at 9:30 a.m., the high school at 10:25 a.m. and St. Mary’s School at 11:15 a.m.

A thens VETERANS DAY SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Veterans Days events will take place on Friday, November 10, starting at 8 a.m. at St. Anthony’s School, followed by a program at Trinity Lutheran School at 8:45 a.m.

Athens Elementary will host its program at 9:30 a.m., followed by a ceremony at Athens Middle and High School at 10:15 a.m.

S tratford VETERANS DAY SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Stratford VFW Memorial Post #6352 will host programs at three local schools on Thursday, November 9. The first ceremony will take place at St. Joseph’s School, from 8:15 to 9 a.m., followed by a program in the Stratford Elementary Gym from 9:15 to 10 a.m.

Stratford Middle/High School will hold its ceremony in the gym, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Veteran Anthony (Tony) Marohl will be the main speaker at all three events.

Following the speakers at the elementary and middle/high school gyms, the VFW’s firing squad will fire three volleys outside the gym to honor all servicemen and women who have died while serving.
