arathon Pins for Veterans Day

This year the American Legion Auxillary Unit 469 of Marathon will be gifting flag pins to the faculty and students in the Marathon School District.

The pins will be given out in the classroom by the staff. The students will be wearing these during the veterans programs at the schools.

MCPL Story Time

Children of all ages and their parents and caregivers are invited to the Marathon City library branch for story time. Attendees will read books, sing songs and more during the 30 minutes together.

Story times will be on Thursdays, November 2, 9, 16 and 30, 10:30-11 a.m.

MCPL Book Club

Join Marathon library staff and other literary enthusiasts during the monthly book club gathering on November 13, 5:45 p.m. This month’s book is “There, There,” by Tommy Orange.

Medicare 101

Adults can learn Medicare basics at a program on November 6, 10:30-11:30 a.m., at the Stratford library branch. The presentation will be led by a local life and health insurance agent, but is non-commerical in nature and for informational purposes only.

MCPL Book Club

Join Stratford library staff and fellow readers for a discussion of “Tailspin” by John Armbruster on November 15, 1 p.m. New members welcome.

Marathon

C ounty Cultural Threads exhibit

The public is invited to view handmade clothing representing North Central Wisconsin’s different cultures at the Cultural Threads exhibit at all nine Marathon County Public Library locations. The exhibit will be on display from November 13-30 at the Marathon County Public Library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau, then from December 2-14 at the other MCPL branches. Free.
