Cadott car show rolls in for its fourth year

By Julia Wolf

Car enthusiasts have reason to rejoice, as the fourth annual Cadott car show returns Sunday, Aug. 27, to Mariner Drive in Cadott. The car show is sponsored by Whispering Pines Golf course and Anderson Moving, with all proceeds going to Cadott Youth Sports.

Registration begins at noon and goes until 2 p.m. Voting is scheduled from 2-4 p.m., with awards to follow from 5:30-6 p.m.

The event is free for spectators, though there is an entry fee for participants, to help fundraise for the cause. Car show coordinator Jake Anderson says the funds will help replenish Cadott Youth Sports’ accounts, after some larger projects.

“We just pitched in with the football program for that Gator,” said Anderson. “We got a Gator, so now we have some-thing we can drag our fields and take care of the maintenance with our ballfields.”

Anderson says the funds will also help with any finishing touches needed on the inside of the new concessions building and keep equipment for the kids updated.

He says the continued support helps them update the facilities in Cadott, and makes youth sports better for the area.

The car show will also feature bouncy houses for the kids, door prizes, raffles and have food available for purchase.

“And then, trophies for the winners, for top three places,” said Anderson.

The trophies are for the class winners, as well as a Kid’s Choice, Best in Show (judged by staff) and People’s Choice (judged by spectators). The classes include stock and modified car, by year; stock and modified truck, by year; as well as import; rat rods; “hillbilly” farm trucks (excludes military/jeeps); big rig (no trailers); and motorcycle.

“School’s going to be starting here soon,” said Anderson. “So, enjoy one of the last Sundays before school starts.”
